What a great month to be a Volunteer at the Sierra Oaks Community and Senior Center.
This is also National Heart Month, so take good care of your health.
Coming Events for this month are:
SOSCC has received a generous grant from the Foundation for rural Service. The Center has also received a challenge from Ponderosa Telephone Co. for SOSCC to raise $1,250 which Ponderosa will match. The Center is asking for your help through your donations to achieve this fun raising goal Any questions please call the Center at 855-3300.
Sat. Feb 4 Don't forget to pick up your Beer Rocks from 9:00 to noon.
Sat. Feb 4, Bingo/Dinner. Starting at 5:00 with Chicken Fried Steak with all the trimming at a small cost of $8.00 with Brandy's Bingo at 7:00.
Wed. Feb.8 Jewelry Making with Diane starting at 9:00 am.
Wed. Feb. 8 Home Instead Hospice Care with Mystie Harrison at 10:00 am
Fri. Feb. 10 Bunco starting at 9:00 - 11:00 am
Mon. Feb. 13 - Red Hat Valentine Exchange with snacks starting at 9:00 am.
Wed. Feb. 15. Valentine Potluck & death by chocolate dessert, hosted by Sierra Mt. Mommas, come and join the fun, wear red.
Fri. Feb. 17 - Computer Assistance Class from 10:00 to 11:00.
Mon. Feb. 20 SOSCC will be closed for President Day
Tues. Feb. 21 Jam Session - Starting at 5:30 Come and get a great hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog or bowl of chili with ? for dessert. Then its toe tapping with our mountain musicians and Cowboy Poet. A great evening of entertainment.
Wed. Feb. 22, Birthday Bash - join us in sharing our best wishes to the Feb. birthday folks.
Fri, Feb. 24 - Waffle Breakfast starting at 8:00 - 11:00 with waffles, bacon and 2 eggs cooked to order.

Feb. 6, Chicken Thigh, w/mushroom sauce, mixed veggies, dinner roll, fruit; Tues. Feb. 7, Enchilada Casserole, tossed green salad, fruited jello; Wed. Feb. 8, Swiss Beef Patty, mashed potatoes, wheat bread, apricots; Thurs, Feb. 9, Tuna Salad Sandwich, potato soup, tropical fruit; Fri. Feb. 10, Spaghetti w/meatballs, hi c Salad, raisins.

Welcome to a wonderful New Year 2017
Great things are going to happen this year and we want you to be a part of the events that are taking place at the Sierra Oaks Senior and Community Center.
Here are the events for January.
Sat. Jan 7, Community Bingo. Lasagna and all the trimmings will be served from 5:00 to 6:30. Then Brandy and her crew will take over for a fun night of Bingo.
Fri. Jan. 13 is Bunco at the center starting at 9:00 am. If you are interested, call the center.
Mon. Jan.16, Center will be closed.
Tues, Jan 17, Jam Session. Let someone else cook for a change. Starting at 5:30 let Richard or Dennis make a great hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog or a bowl of chili with dessert. Stay and enjoy the foothill musicians and Cowboy poet. What an evening.
Wed. Jan. 18, Dicroic Glass Class starting at 9:00. Come to the center and be creative and make a one of a kind jewelry.
Fri. Jan 20, Computer Assistance starting at 10:30. Having problems? Come on over and get them solved.
Wed. Jan. 25,Birthday Bash day. Cal Fire and Smoky will be here to present "Wildland Fire and Senior Citizens fire safety". This will be a good time to ask questions and learn about what to do in case of a wildland fire.
Fri. Jan 25, Waffle Breakfast with NEW hours! Starting at 8:00 to 11:00 you can order eggs any way, bacon and a waffle.
Pick up your SuperBowl Beerrocks on Sat. Feb. 4 before noon. Order now. $4.00 each.
Our General Meeting are the First Wednesday of the month and give you an up to date information on our activities plus you are eligible for a drawing. Artist Sandy Madrid has several of her paintings on display for the month of Jan. at the center. If you have an artistic hanging that you would like to display at the center for a month, please contact the center at 855-3300.

Jan.11, Meatloaf w/gravy, peas & carrots, wheat bread, tropical fruit, butterscotch pudding; Thurs. Jan 12, seasoned chicken thigh, baked potato, wheat bread, mixed fruit; Fri.
