JUST JULY

Summer has finally hit and its hot out there.  Come and cool off at the center and participate in the many activities available.The center will be closed  Thursday ,JULY 4, remember to enjoy the independence.
Fri. July 5,19 & 26 Mexican Train from 9:30 - 11:00. This is a fun domino game.
Sat. July 6, Bingo, Potato Bar Dinner with dessert, will be served from 5:00 - 6:30.  Brandi's crew takes over starting at 7:00 with many prizes for the taking.  
Mon. July 8, Red Hatters celebrating their Sweet 16 Birthday party starting at 10:00 bring wonderful treats to share.
Fri. July 12, Bunco, starting at 9:00 - 11:00.  
Tues, July 16, Jam Session.  Let the crew do the cooking for you starting at 5:30.  Enjoy the music of the awesome musicians and Cowboy poet.
Wed. July 17, Jewelry making with dicroic glass.  Come be creative, it's fun.
Wed. July 24, Physical Therapist, David Nehring will be at the center at 10:00 am. He will demonstrate and show exercises to the group.  Come and be informed.
Wed. July 31, Birthday Bash and potluck.  Help all the July birthday folks celebrate and bring your favorite dish to share.

The monthly newsletter is offering a 1 year subscription to the Mountain Press for just $12. with a percentage going to the center.

JUMPING INTO JUNE

Welcome to the Sierra Oaks Community Center Blog. 
June is bursting with activities and we want you to be a part of the Center's fun.  
Yard Sale and Country Breakfast is this Sat.June 8.  Breakfast is from 8-10 for $8.00, the yard sale goes till 2pm.  There are spaces available for $10.00.  Call the center to reserve your space.  See you Saturday.
Fri,June 7, Mexican Train (dominoes) starts at 9, all are welcome. 
Mon. June 10,Red Hatters will meet at Diane Pratt's house for a pajama party and brunch.  Bring breakfast goodies to share. Fun starts at 10 am.  
Fri. June 14, Flag Day, Bunco at the center.  If you want to have fun and laugh a lot come on over.
Tues. June 18, Jam Session.  Too hot for the kitchen, let the center serve your dinner.  Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chili and dessert is on the menu with lots of foothill musical entertainment and Cowboy Poet for entertainment.
Wed. June 19.  Dicroic Jewelry making class, starting at 9:00 am.  Come and be creative and design your own jewelry for a small fee.
Fri, June 21, Mexican Train (dominoes) starts at 9, all are welcome.
Wed. June 26, Birthday Bash, Pot Luck and Memorial Luncheon for Trevor  Schnitzius.

MAY WILD FLOWERS ARE IN FULL BLOOM

It is a beautiful time of year here in the foothills.  Take advantage of the Senior Center and enjoy the hospitality of the folks and activities. YARD SALE coming June 8.  Country Breakfast for $8.00 and plenty of space on the front lawn for you to bring your items to be sold.  Space is only $10.00, please call the center

APRIL - A awesome month for beauty in the foothills

April will be a busy month at the Center with interesting and fun events.  We want you to be a part of all the wonderful activities.  
Mark your Calendar: 
Fri. April 5, 19 & 26 Mexican Train - dominoes - starts at 9:00.  Come join the fun. 
Sat. April 6 Bingo, ham dinner starting at 5:00-6:30 pm.  Brandy will start Bingo at 7:00. 
Tues. April 9, Red Hatters Thrift Shop Adventure - note new date. We will meet at the center at 8:30. Lunch at Yosemite Falls on Shaw at oneish. 
Wed. April 10, Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10am.The center could use wrapped candy to fill the plastic eggs and use your help to stuff the eggs on Mon. April 8.
Fri. April 12, Bunco starting at 9:00.  If you are interested come on over.  Lots of laughs and fun.
Sat. April 13, Pie Contest. 1;00 pm.  Be sure and sign up to enter or just bring a pie to share.  Bring pies to the center by noon.
Mon. April 15, Volunteer Luncheon starting at 10 am.  This is a special way for the center to say "Thank You" to all the volunteers.  Be sure and sign up at the front desk.
Tues. April 16, Jam, Great music, and Cowboy Poet. Food available for purchase starting at 5:30.  Eat out, eat at the center.
Wed. April 17, Cal Fire.  Stacey Nolan with Cal Fire and "Smokey Bear" will be here at 9:30.  They will be up dating us on important information.
 Sat. April 20, Lions newspaper collection at the Prather post office. Leo's are selling Krispy Kremes.  Also a delightful Quilt show at the Mormon Church starting at 9:am.
Wed. April 24 Dicroic Class at 8:30 and Birthday Bash.  Come and create a beautiful piece of jewelry and stay for  delicious dessert.
Sat. April 27 Join friends for a Waffle breakfast on Sat, starting at 8am - 10am.  Bacon and 2 eggs cooked your way, plus drinks just $7.00. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Our artists of the Month;  Terri McMeen will display several of her embroidery pieces.  If you know of someone who would like to display their talent, please let the center know. We love to share, 855-3300.

MARCHING INTO SPRING

Burr, its cold and rainy outside.  Come over to the senior center and get warm, visit with friends, do crafts or play Mexican Train and have lunch.

Fri.March 6, Bunco starting at 9:00 - 11:00, just $10.00 with fun and excitement and a chance to win prises.
Mon. March 11, Red Hatters to Table Mountain Casino for a buffet lunch.  Cost around $15.00.  Meet at the center at 10:30.
Wed. March 13, Dicroic Class at 9:00 am come and be creative, designing your own jewelry. A slight cost for the kiln & glass.
Wed. March 13, St. Patrick's Potluck.  Wear green for an early St. Patrick's Day celebration. Bring your favorite dish to share.
Fri. March 15 & March 29 Mexican Train starting at 9:00. A fun dominoes game!
Tues. March 19, Jam Session.  Great music with our local musicians.  Food available for purchase starting at 5:30.

FREEZIN' FEBRUARY

What a start to the second month of the new year. Snow, rain, freezing temperatures.  The Community Center is the place to come to warm up and visit with others.
BAKELESS BAKE SALE for February.  Give a dollar rather than bake.
